Lexxe Overwhelmed by Users' Quests
Source: Lexxe Corporate News
Date: October 31st, 2005
Since October 24th, Lexxe has been under the media spotlight for more than a whole week. More than 50 newspapers, mainly in Chinese, including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, US, Canada and UK reported on Lexxe either on their websites or in print. Korean media also took special interest in the story.
Lexxe's website was visited by hundreds and thousands of people from about 80 counties everyday and unfortunately the search engine could not handle such a traffic. The whole website was shut down a number of times during the last week of October.
Dr. Hong Liang Qiao, CEO of Lexxe, openly apologized to the users. Lexxe was not initially built for general commercial search, he said. It serves as something for demonstrating a much more advanced Internet technology, Dr. Qiao added.
But a positive note is that Lexxe has received many positive feedback from users, which he said he felt humbled. The user return rate has now reached near 60%, which means a large number of users keep coming back to Lexxe on a regular basis.
The Short Question Answering is a favourite feature of Lexxe, which attracts 60-65% of the users on a daily basis.
Since he couldn't answer the many emails received, Dr. Qiao compiled a reply to the most often asked questions in them.
